Artist Profile: Ginkgostory

Roger Loo's work first caught my eye as I was searching through Artstation's extensive artist directory with a tight focus - Genre: Fantasy- / Sc-fi- / Game-themed artwork; Location: Australia.

His lighthearted and gorgeously detailed illustrative style and themes of fantasy adventure, mythical creatures and bustling Asian settlements reminds me of similar work by Tin Tin creator Georges Remi (who wrote under the pen name Hergé) and Hayao Miyazaki (Studio Ghibli), while maintaining it's own particular individual style.

He is a talented Melbourne artist with a penchant for storytelling that playfully explores a range of themes and places, much like his characters in the sketchbook series "Wanderers".
